Illegal dumping is a real problem in Calgary and communities throughout Alberta. Furniture, appliances, mattresses, renovation materials and other waste can end up being left along roads, in ditches, on vacant land or on someone else's property.

Calgary identifies illegal dumping as waste being left on public or private property without permission. It creates safety concerns, affects neighbourhoods and puts an unnecessary burden on the communities that have to deal with it.

That's not how we operate.

We will never intentionally leave your unwanted items somewhere they don't belong.

We respect the communities we work in, the people who live here, private property, public spaces and the environment.

What Happens to Your Junk?

Not everything we remove is simply garbage.

Whenever possible, we look for a better destination for the items we collect.

Materials that can be recycled are taken to appropriate recycling facilities whenever possible. Recycling helps keep usable materials out of the landfill and gives them another opportunity to be processed and used.

❤️ Donation & Reuse

Some items may still have plenty of life left in them.

When appropriate, usable furniture, household items and other belongings may be directed toward charities or organizations that can give them another use.

We believe that if something can help someone else, it shouldn't automatically become waste.

🗑️ Proper Disposal

Of course, not everything can be donated or recycled.

Some items have simply reached the end of their useful life. When that happens, we make sure the material is taken to an appropriate waste disposal facility.

Calgary has designated waste facilities and Eco Centres for materials that cannot go into regular household collection. Alberta also has regulations governing the proper management and disposal of waste.

There is a proper place for waste — and a roadside ditch isn't it.

We Respect Your Property

Our responsibility starts when we arrive at your home.

We treat your property with care and respect while removing your items. But our responsibility doesn't end when we drive away.

We also respect other people's property and land.

That means we don't use vacant lots, rural properties, roadsides, ditches, back lanes or public spaces as places to get rid of unwanted items.

We believe solving one person's junk problem should never create a problem for someone else.
